Reading  and Math Connection
Aim: Symmetry suggested ages 5-8

Materials:  Drawing paper, blocks, pencils, crayons, ruler

Rationale:   This exercise is important for students whose learning style is visual or tactile.  It is also a review for students who are kinesthetic and auditory.

Procedure:  
1.  Select 2 or 3 blocks
2. Trace each figure on paper
3. Draw a line and observe that the 2 opposite parts tare he same in size, shape and position.
4. Rotate the  block many times  and trace the figure.s  
5. Make  designs and have fun  being creative.
6. Color your design and hang the completed work.  Your student now  understands symmetry in a fun way.
